(ANSA) - Milan, October 26 - Protecting human lives is more
important than defending borders, House Speaker Laura Boldrini
said Monday.
"Protecting our border cannot be held above protecting
those fleeing war and human rights violations," she told the
Institute for International Policy Studies (ISPI) think tank in
Milan in regards to the current refugee crisis.
"Border protection cannot come before the protection of
human beings," she said.
