Ryanair to boost flights if Alitalia quits Fiumicino

Alitalia threatened to move out after Terminal 3 fire

(ANSA) - Rome, July 30 - Ryanair low-cost airline said Thursday it will increase flights at Rome's Fiumicino airport if Alitalia moves out. "Ryanair continues to work closely with the airport authority to grow tourism, jobs and traffic," it said.
Alitalia said Wednesday it suffered 80 million euros in damages since a May 7 fire at Terminal 3. "If Fiumicino continues to focus on low-cost carriers and mediocre service, Alitalia will be forced to shift its growth elsewhere," Alitalia CEO Silvano Cassano said.
