(ANSA) - Kathmandu, May 4 - The Nepal government on Monday
asked 34 countries to withdraw their search-and-rescue teams
from the earthquake-devastated country, saying their help is no
longer needed.
Nine days have elapsed since the April 25 7.8 magnitude
quake that killed at least 6,000 people.
"We're very grateful for their work but under international
standards, the search for survivors ends after seven days,"
interior ministry spokesperson Laxmi Prasad Dhapal told ANSA.
