Jean-Claude Juncker, head
of the European Commission, said Wednesday that high debt
prevents economic growth and job creation. "There is neither
work nor growth if debt climbs," Juncker said in a video message
to a fiscal seminar organized by ex-premier Mario Monti and
attended by Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan. Juncker added
that his plan for 300 billion euros in investment by the EC was
created "without debt" to create jobs, especially for youth,
"but do not spend money you do not have," added Juncker.
