anti-corruption czar, Italo Walter Politano, is among some 100
people under investigation in a probe into an alleged mafia
organisation that rigged public contracts in the Italian
capital, ANSA sources said Tuesday. Politano is accused of mafia
association and is reportedly to be removed from his post on
Wednesday. He was appointed by center-left Democratic Party (PD)
Mayor Ignazio Marino in November 2013, and is the de facto Rome
point man for national anti-corruption czar, Raffaele Cantone.
