The Colombian government has
suspended peace talks with Marxist guerrilla group FARC,
following the apparent kidnapping of a Colombian army general,
the government said on Monday.
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos called for the
release of Brigadier General Ruben Dario Alzate Mora, abducted
in the west coast state of Choco, via Twitter: "We demand that
the captors (most likely FARC) release him as soon as possible,
safe and sound," he said.
