The Senate on Wednesday gave
definitive approval to the government's decree extending Italy's
military missions abroad. The legislation, which extended
Italy's missions in Lebanon and Afghanistan among others, passed
with 190 votes in favour, 42 against and 17 abstentions. The
anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) and the Left, Ecology
and Freedom (SEL) party voted against, while the Northern League
abstained.
