A court in the southern Puglia
region on Thursday ordered assets worth a million euros seized
from a man on unemployment benefits, but who was found to have a
luxury apartment and other valuable property in his name.
The 46-year-old man, who remained nameless, is on trial for
drug dealing.
The man, who declared monthly income of 658 euros, turned
out to own a luxury apartment, three cars, a shop selling
household products, two mopeds, two bank accounts and a stock
portfolio.
He also bought and sold 29 cars and 13 motorcycles in
recent years, police said.
