Police in the northern city of Asti
arrested 14 people Thursday on suspicion of international drug
trafficking from the Caribbean to Italy.
The arrests were made after a probe beginning in 2012
uncovered a network of suspected drug runners, mostly Dominican
nationals living in Italy.
Investigators reportedly also identified the alleged
suppliers, complicit police officers in the Dominican Republic
and recipients of the drugs in the Piedmont city and other parts
of Italy.
