Italian oil-and-gas giant Eni
posted net profits of 1.3 billion euros in the first quarter of
2014, down 15.6% over the same period the previous year,
according to unaudited group results published Tuesday.
The State controlled company produced 1,583 million barrels
of oil a day in the first quarter, up 0.6% over the
January-March 2013 period.
"Eni delivered solid results in the first quarter 2014,
despite a difficult market environment," said Chief Executive
Officer Paolo Scaroni.
Company stocks rose 1.26% to 18,55 euros on the Milan
bourse in early trading on Tuesday in response to the figures.
