Giffgaff products and services

A prepaid sim card offering 2G and 3G mobile services was Giffgaff pioneer product. The sim card was charged on a pay as you use basis. They later introduced text and data and bundles of minutes called goodybags. They got this idea of bundles from community forums.  In June 2012. Giffgaff announced that it would be possible for a customer to set goodybags to renew automatically after they add a debit or credit card on the site. Later that year, GiffGaff added data-only goodybags, also known as gigabags to their products lineup. 

In March 2014, the brand announced that it was going to launch 4G LTE goodybags and would be available for customers to buy from April 2014. In May the same year, Giffgaff announced that they were an official Apple carrier. This was later followed by an announcement that they’d be stocking iPhones in their online store. This was a good move as it would unlock features such as tethering and voicemail that would have otherwise been locked for iPhone users. iPhone devices were therefore available for sale on their online shop as from 4th June 2014.
