ROME - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Tuesday he will repeat a call for Mideast dialogue on his trip to Israel and the occupied West Bank on Sunday and Monday.
"We have always called for calm, problems are not solved by violence on either side," Tajani said on the sidelines of an event at the foreign ministry in Rome.
"Instead, we must dialogue and build a path.
"Italy wants to build a path of peace and stability, reaffirming that Israel's independence and security are a priority and that we must arrive at two independent states that can negotiate and discuss with each other".
After his visit to Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, Tajani will move on to Egypt Monday.
