(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, 03 FEB - The Kosovo government has
issued two expropriation orders for assets of Serbs in northern
Kosovo as part of infrastructure works started in recent days
considered in the public interest, Serbian media reported on
Friday.
These measures risk inflaming protests by the local Serb population, who have in recent days begun mobilising against the works started in the Dren and Lesak municipalities of Leposavic, one of the four largest Serb-majority municipalities in northern Kosovo.
The inhabitants affected by the expropriation consider these measures illegal.
On Thursday, EU representatives to Kosovo expressed their concerns in this regard. (ANSAmed).
