Abbas met a group of Israeli scholars and academics at the Mukataa, the presidential residence in Ramallah in the West Bank.
"This side remains committed to reaching a just and complete peace based on the principles of the two-state solution and international decisions, despite all the difficulties and the obstacles placed by the Israeli government," Abbas said, according to Palestinian state news agency WAFA.
Abbas has repeatedly rejected the peace plan that the administration of US President Donald Trump is working on.
It said the US is no longer a "credible partner" after its decision to name Jerusalem the capital of Israel and to move its embassy there.(ANSAmed).
