Italy's ambassador to Egypt, Maurizio Massari
ROME - A two-day Rome summit between Italian and Egyptian investigators on the Cairo torture and murder of researcher Giulio Regeni has ended in failure, ending collaboration between the two countries on the case, judicial sources said Friday. Italian investigators were reported to be disappointed at not getting what they had requested from the Egyptian side. As a consquence, Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni recalled Italy's ambassador to Egypt, Maurizio Massari.
