TEL AVIV - A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the night between Sunday and Monday in Hebron (West Bank), the Palestinian health ministry said. The ministry identified the victim as Nasim Abu Fouda, 26.
According to Palestinian news agency Wafa, the incident occurred at a military checkpoint near the Tomb of the Patriarchs. According to Wafa, soldiers shot at the car on which Abu Fouda was travelling. He was hit by a bullet in the head. No military spokesperson has commented the incident yet. According to local sources, the soldiers feared the vehicle could run them over.
