CAIRO - A Libyan militia, the "444 Combat Brigade" from Tripoli, claimed Tuesday to have freed 110 Bangladeshi migrants "kidnapped" in Libya who had suffered extortion against their families and torture in an attempt to get their families to pay, the armed group's Facebook page reported.
The armed group that had taken them hostage consisted of nine Bangladeshi nationals and two Libyans, according to a post that also said that the criminals had demanded that family members of the migrants pay 25,000 dinars (over 5,000 euros) for the release of each of their relatives.
