BEIRUT - A reported 200 family members of ISIS militants over the past 24 hours were able to leave Baghouz in south-eastern Syria, the UK-based monitoring group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Tuesday. The NGO, which has a widespread network of sources on the ground, said clashes between Kurdish forces and militants continued overnight and, sporadically, on Tuesday morning.
According to sources on the ground, dozens of ISIS militants were killed over the past few hours in clashes with Kurdish forces and in air raids carried out by the US-led international Coalition.
The information cannot be independently verified on the ground.
Different Kurdish-Syrian sources were quoted as saying by pan-Arab media that the ''battle is near the end'', although similar claims have been repeatedly denied over the past few days.
