(ANSAmed) - BEIRUT, FEBRUARY 28 - Forces loyal to the regime
of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad last night executed at least
70 children, newborns, adolescents and elderly people in a
village south of the city of Aleppo, Local Coordination
Committees (LCC) activists reported on Thursday.
The massacre took place in the tiny village of Malkiye, near
Safira, south of the city of Aleppo. Most of the village's few
hundred inhabitants are Sunni Muslims.
The LCC activists working with the activist-run Center for
Documentation of Violations in Syria (VDC) have so far
identified 42 of the victims, while 30 more bodies remain to be
identified.
The victims include Radia Khalif, aged 8 months; her
brothers Hussein, 2, and Ali, 4; Shaaban Hamdu, 4; Abdo and
Mahmud Shaykho, aged 10 and 12 years old respectively; Hussein
Sallum, 12, Jaduw Musa, 90, and Muhammad Hamdo, 85. (ANSAmed).
