TUNIS - Italy is the top importer of fish products from Tunisia, accounting for 32.5% of Tunisia's fish exports. Following are Libya with 15.1% and Spain with 12.6%, the Tunisian National Observatory of Agriculture reported, noting that Tunisian exports of crustaceans, fish and other fisheries products had increased by 19.9% in quantity and by 23.5% in terms of value between January and October 2022.
The foreign trade balance of Tunisian fish was positive in the same period by about 269.7 million dinars (81 million euros) compared with the same period in 2021: a 17.8% increase.
At the end of October 2022, exports totalled 29,500 tons for a value of 612 million dinars (about 84 million euros), compared with 24,600 tons in the same period of the previous year, for a value of 495.5 million dinars (about 149 million euros).
