(ANSAmed) - ATHENS, MARCH 19 - The number of permanent or
temporary employees in the Greek manufacturing industry
decreased by 6.7% in 2013, as GreekReporter website writes
quoting the last figures released by the Hellenic Statistical
Authority (Elstat) today. According to Elstat, during the last
year the number of jobs decreased by approximately 24,100 and an
average of 66 positions were lost on a daily basis.
Specifically, the number of employees in the manufacturing industry is estimated to have been limited to approximately 336,350, compared to approximately 360,450 in 2012. In 2011, the number of people who were employed in the manufacturing industry dropped to an average of 416,200 people, 469,750 people in 2010, 513,375 people in 2009, and 538,925 people in 2008, while in 2007 they amounted to 560,550 people. Compared to 2007 jobs in the sector have decreased by 224,200 or 40%. (ANSAmed).
