(ANSAmed) - ROME, FEBRUARY 20 - An exhibition at Accademia
Egitto in the Italian capital running from February 23 until
March 16 will showcases scenes of traditional life in Upper
Egypt.
Photos showing work in the fields, jar manufacturing, bread
making, family life, music and dance and religion are part of
'Glimpses of Upper Egypt'.
The result of research between 1978 ad 1982, Giovanni Canova from the Naples university L'Orientale said, the exhibition is to show work practices and customs that have either disappeared entirely or been radically transformed. The research includes about a thousand images as well as audio recordings and footage of celebrations, weddings, circumcisions, saint days and pilgrimages across various areas of Upper Egypt.
