(ANSAmed) - ROME, FEBRUARY 28 - Soon even Dubai residents will have the chance to indulge in Giolitti's famous gelatos. In a few weeks the historic Roman brand will be opening a new ice cream parlour in Emaar Boulevard measuring over 400 square metres and furnished in an entirely Italian style, in which one can dip into the over 70 specialties of the gelateria as well as traditional Italian dishes. The ice cream parlour - which will be inaugurated on April 21, on the day marking Rome's birthday - represents the beginning of a new phase aiming to bring the brand name to numerous other Gulf countries. ''Investing in these economic realities means counting on new opportunities for success in a globalised and ever more specialised world,'' said the Rome trade councillor Davide Bordoni. The expansion towards the East of the Roman gelateria began with the opening of the first Giolitti ice cream parlour in Istanbul on September 29 2010. Since then other inaugurations have followed. Another 10 gelaterias are set to open by the end of the current year. In future, Giolitti - which has been making ice cream cones and soft ice cream since 1900 - expects to open new premises in the Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.(ANSAmed)
