Students and others who have been
staging anti-government street protests have merely been
responsible for "provocations" aimed at claiming that the
government, in allegedly repressing them, is authoritarian,
Premier Giorgia Meloni said Tuesday.
"We always say they're students but if you look at the photos,
the images, and videos, you see that they're graduates, or have
dropped out," she told a conservative daily La Verità event in
Milan.
"Some of these people are professionals in the activity, who
provoke the forces of law and order in the hope that something
goes wrong and they can say that the government has
authoritarian methods," she said.
