Philippines signs peace accord with Islamic separatists (ANSA) - Manila, March 27 - The Philippine president and the leader of the country's main Islamic separatist movement Thursday signed a historic peace agreement in Manila, putting an end to one of the longest and bloodiest guerrilla conflicts ever seen in Asia. The Muslim separatist leader Mourad Ebrahim said that the "detailed" agreement concerning the disputed territory of Bangsamoro "crowns our struggle". Ebrahim is the leader of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). He signed the agreement with Philippine President Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III.
