Obama asks pope to pray for his family (ANSA) - Vatican City, March 27 - United States President Barack Obama asked Pope Francis to pray for his family during their meeting at Vatican on Thursday.

"My family has to be with me on this journey. They've been very strong," Obama told the Argentine pontiff during talks that took place in English and Spanish with the help of two interpreters.

"Pray for them. I would appreciate it," the president said.

The pope agreed to the request.
