Squinzi says Expo 2015 too important for legal trouble (ANSA) - Milan, March 21 - Milan Expo 2015 is too important to the Italian economy and its recovery from recession to be put in danger by legal wrangling, the head of the country's major business employers group Confindustria said Friday.

"We cannot lose ourselves in new controversy and legal and judicial initiatives, we must focus on the execution of the work," said Giorgio Squinzi.

He spoke during an investigation of infrastructure activities during the first year in office of the regional government of Northern League Governor Roberto Maroni in the Lombardy region, around Milan. Squinzi also said that he was present during meetings earlier this week between Premier Matteo Renzi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and that the two leaders were not as cozy as some have implied.

"I was at the dinner and she was very austere with us," said Squinzi.
