Mafia cold case solved after 12 years (ANSA) - Palermo, March 19 - Italian police on Wednesday said they had cracked a 12-year-old Mafia murder thanks to new information from informants.

Mafia-linked Sicilian businessman Andrea Cottone disappeared in November 2002 at Villabate near Palermo.

The informants named three members of a rival Cosa Nostra clan, two of them detained since 2005, who allegedly strangled him and dissolved his body in acid.
