Man allegedly attacks wife, slices neck with box cutter (ANSA) - Pisa, March 17 - A 50-year old man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly slashing his wife's throat with a box cutter while she was at work in Pisa's Santa Chiara Hospital. Police said that he had previously threatened to take his own life, and they had seized several knifes from him in the past.

It's alleged he later bought a box cutter, leading investigators to suspect the attack was premeditated.

The victim is in an intensive care ward but hospital officials say no vital organs were cut in the attack.

Police say the couple has two children.
