Rome celebrates Great Beauty with tour of film sights (ANSA) - Rome, March 14 - Walking tours around Rome that stop at key scenes from the Oscar-winning Italian movie The Great Beauty, including gardens, private buildings and historic sites, will begin Sunday.

The three routes include spots not always open to the public as well as famous sights that are visited by the main character of Paolo Sorrentino's film which earlier this month won the Oscar for best foreign film.

The routes include Piazza Navona, with the church of St.

Agnese in Agone, the Ponte Sisto across the Tiber River, the Aventine Hill, Baths of Caracalla, Capitoline Museums and the Colosseum.

After the Oscar win was announced, Rome Mayor Ignazio Marino began planning the tours, designed to show off some of the beauty highlighted in the film starring acclaimed actor Toni Servillo.

The Great Beauty portrays the decadent and vacuous lives of a series of Italian personalities living in the capital city, which itself plays a leading role in Sorrentino's film.
