Govt wins confidence vote extending military missions (ANSA) - Rome, March 13 - A decree extending Italy's international military missions, including its involvement in the NATO-led ISAF mission in Afghanistan, passed a confidence vote in parliament Thursday. Premier Matteo Renzi called the vote Wednesday to limit debate and speed the passage of legislation through parliament. There was a risk, as Renzi's government, which was sworn in last month, would have collapsed it if failed to win the vote. But the decree passed with 325 in favor against 177 opposed.
