Renzi promises 'significant tax cuts' Wednesday (see related stories) (ANSA) - Rome, March 11 - Premier Matteo Renzi on Tuesday promised to present major tax cuts on Wednesday, when he is also set to launch programme for Italy's schools and his Jobs Act to combat rising unemployment.

"For the first time a significant quantity of money will be put into the Italian people's pockets," he told a meeting of his centre-left Democratic Party (PD). Italy's youngest premier had previously pledged that 10 billion euros worth of cuts to income, labour and business taxes would be approved at a cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
