Concerns that coal-fired power plant dangerous to health11 March, 18:49
Electricity provider Tirreno shut down its Vado Ligure plant in Italy's northwestern Liguria region after a judge ordered it seized for allegedly exceeding emission limits.
The judge's order spoke of a link between emissions from the plant, death and illness.
Savona preliminary investigations judge Fiorenza Giorgi ordered the seizure of the Vado Ligure plant on grounds of alleged "negligent behaviour" by Tirreno Power and because the emissions data from the plant was deemed "unreliable".
