Possible difficulties in laying groundwork

Pope Holy Land trip to proceed as scheduled says Lombardi (ANSA) - Vatican City, March 7 - Pope Francis' May 24-26 trip to the Holy Land will go ahead as scheduled despite an Israeli foreign ministry labour dispute, Vatican Spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said Friday. The strike may pose difficulties in preparing the trip to Israel and the Palestine Territories, he said.

Vatican sources told ANSA the Holy See hoped the diplomats' strike would be over by May. Earlier Friday Israel's foreign ministry had said the visit would be rescheduled.
