Economy ministry says no new budget, new measures instead (ANSA) - Rome, March 6 - Sources in the economy ministry said Thursday there is no need for a new budget but instead, a "full-bodied" plan is in the works to promote growth and job creation. One day earlier, the European Commission warned that Italy's present budget is insufficient to correct the country's macroeconomic imbalances.

Premier Matteo Renzi's government will not pass a "corrective budget", economy ministry sources said.

Instead, it will implement "a full-bodied action plan to promote growth with a focus on creating jobs".
