Fans cited in first use of law against offensive banners (see related) (ANSA) - Turin, March 4 - Some Juventus fans are being investigated by prosecutors applying for the first time a 2007 law against displaying insulting and offensive banners, authorities in Turin said Tuesday.

Several Juventus fans were reported to prosecutors over banners displayed at a derby match on February 23 that celebrated the 1949 Superga air disaster in which 31 people were killed, including 18 players of city rivals Torino.

One of the two banners read: "When you fly, think of Toro".

Juventus were fined 25,000 euros over the banners.
