False priest blessed people for pay in centre of Rome (ANSA) - Rome, March 4 - A fake priest who blessed people for cash in the centre of Rome has been stopped and cited by police.

The 30-year-old Bosnian, dressed in priestly robes and bearing a simple wooden cross like Pope Francis's, asked for 20 euros a blessing from unsuspecting tourists outside the church of the Sacramento di Santa Maria in Via, close to the Italian premier's office.

The church's real priest reported the impostor to police.
