Euro, ruble rise on Russian troop pullback (ANSA) - Rome, March 4 - The euro and the ruble rose Tuesday after Russian President Vladimir Putin pulled back troops exercising on Ukraine's borders, making a full-scale conflict less likely and an IMF aid package to Kiev more likely despite Moscow's intervention in Crimea.

The European single currency was up 0.4% to $1.375 while the ruble was trading 0.3% up at 50.013 euros and $36.35 after plunging amid rising tensions Monday.

The yen, which had surged on the prospects of a Ukraine civil war and Russian occupation of Russian-speaking regions of Ukraine, fell back 0.3% to $101.76.
