Wall crumbles at Pompeii

Third collapse in two days, culture minister calls snap meeting

03 March, 10:43
Wall crumbles at Pompeii (ANSA) - Pompeii, March 3 - An ancient wall fell down at the ruins of Pompeii on Monday, a day after two similar collapses amid heavy rain in the area. The two-meter-high wall was part of a Roman-era shop closed to the public. On Sunday, rains provoked collapses at the Temple of Venus and brought down a wall of a tomb in the necropolis of Porta Nocera. The culture minister has called an snap meeting on the recent damage scheduled Tuesday.
