Soccer: Sassuolo sack Malesani after just five matches (ANSA) - Rome, March 3 - Serie A's bottom side Sassuolo on Monday sacked coach Alberto Malesani after a short stint in charge that featured five defeats out of five.

The promoted northern Italian side, who have 17 points from 26 games, have reinstated former boss Eusebio Di Francesco.

Sassuolo were third-bottom when Di Francesco was dismissed late in January. Malesani is the 12th Serie A coach to get the sack this season, including Di Francesco's dismissal. AC Milan, Bologna, Lazio, Genoa, Sampdoria and Chievo have also changed coaches this term, while relegation-threatened Catania and Livorno have both switched twice.
