Two ATMs near Naples blown up with gas (ANSA) - Naples, February 28 - Two ATMS in the Naples area were blown up with gas Friday, police said.

Thieves fed gas into the cash machines until they exploded under the pressure, without lighting it, in what police said was a new technique.

The raids took place at Bagnoli on the outskirts of Naples and Aversa north of the Campanian capital.

The proceeds of the first robbery have not been quantified while the second one resulted in a haul stretching into the tens of thousands of euros, police said.
