Lawyer turns self in for hit-and-run (ANSA) - Parma, February 28 - A well-known lawyer in the northern Italian city of Parma turned himself in to prosecutors on Friday after being identified as the suspect behind a hit-and-run that killed a 65-year-old woman this month. Fabio Apollonio appeared at the Parma prosecutor's office accompanied by his lawyer Fabio Bonati.

On February 19, Mara Aicardi was hit by an automobile as she crossed a street in the Parma city centre. Apollonio was contacted by prosecutor Andrea Bianchi on Thursday, and on Friday was questioned by investigators.

Apollonio was located through his car, after he brought his dark BMW station wagon to a mechanic's shop in San Michele Tiorre, in the periphery of Parma.
