Pensions continued to be sent to dead emigrants abroad

Italian social security recovers pensions sent to dead (ANSA) - Tropea (Vibo Valentia), February 28 - Nearly 90,000 euros were recovered by the Italian social security institute INPS after finance police in the southern Italian town of Tropea audited the cases of a number of Italian emigrants who maintained formal residency status in Italy.

It emerged from the investigation that pensions continued to be issued to a number of emigrants who were deceased, as INPS had not received notification of their deaths.
