Grillo takes pride in M5S suspensions, mocks Boldrini (ANSA) - Rome, February 28 - The head of the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) mocked the House Speaker on Friday for suspending 26 of his MPs for brawling inside the chamber, taking her disciplinary act as a compliment.

"26 M5S members suspended by Laura Boldrini, 26 medals," tweeted Beppe Grillo. The politicians received suspensions ranging from 10 to 12 days for the scuffle after they charged towards Boldrini on the floor of the House late last month for blocking their filibuster. One of them even sent a rival politician to the infirmary with bite wounds. Another MP, Stefano Dambruoso of the centrist Civic Choice, was suspended for 15 days, for allegedly slapping a female M5S member during the dispute, in what he says was an accident while trying to protect the Speaker in his role as quaestor to maintain order on the floor. Grillo said Dambruoso's suspension was a slap on the wrist.

"A citizen who beats a woman outside parliament winds up in the slammer," he said. "Dambruoso stays at his post as quaestor to oversee order!"
