Rousseff reportedly gave pope 'unofficial' Brazil shirt (ANSA) - Rio de Janeiro, February 27 - The Brazil shirt signed by soccer great Pelé that Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff gave Pope Francis during an audience at the Vatican on Friday may not have been an original replica, according to Brazilian media reports.

Rio de Janeiro newspaper O Globo said that the shirt Francis received was a copy of an old shirt that can be bought at market stalls, rather than from official dealers of the Brazilian national team's merchandise.

The daily also claimed that the 2014 World Cup soccer ball, the Brazuca, signed by Ronaldo that Francis received was not authentic either.
