Head of big-business lobby group hopes for government stability

Squinzi says he 'agrees' with Renzi tax-cut plan (See related) (ANSA) - Milan, February 24 - Giorgio Squinzi, president of big-business employers federation Confindustria, said Monday that he was cheered by promises from Premier Matteo Renzi to cut labour and income taxes.

Earlier in the day Renzi told the Senate that was part of his plan if he wins confidence votes in parliament.

Squinzi said he could not help but "agree" with Renzi's plan and hoped for the "political stability" of an administration that lasts more than a few months.

Renzi is Italy's fourth premier in less than three years but has said he hopes to hold government until 2018.
