Youngest premier Renzi leads youngest cabinet22 February, 12:07
(ANSA) - Rome, February 22 - The government of Matteo Renzi was sworn in by President Giorgio Napolitano Saturday and entered into the fullness of its powers. The 16-strong team, half of them women, has an average age of 47, the youngest ever.
Democratic Party (PD) leader Renzi, 39, Italy's youngest premier, has vowed sweeping political and economic reforms.
The former Florence mayor will draft a speech over the weekend to submit to confidence votes in the Senate Monday and the House Tuesday.
Renzi takes over from party colleague Enrico Letta whom he forced out of office last week for not moving quickly enough on reforms.
