Naples taxi strike brings traffic to a halt (ANSA) - Naples, February 19 - A taxi strike in Naples Wednesday brought traffic to a standstill in a city that is a byword for anarchic driving.

Some 200 taxi drivers protesting the council's recent authorisation of car-sharing marched through the streets and let off a couple of smoke-bombs near the office of Mayor Luigi De Magistris.

The drivers have been at loggerheads with De Magistris over moves to free up the taxi market.
