Vladimir Luxuria, two TV presenters detained at Olympics (see related) (ANSA) - Sochi, February 17 - Russian plain-clothes police on Monday detained Italian transgender activist Vladimir Luxuria and two TV presenters from satirical show Le Iene (The Hyenas) as they were about to enter the hockey stadium to see a game.

Wearing a rainbow-colored outfit to symbolize gay rights, Luxuria - a TV celebrity and former MP - had a ticket and Sochi Olympics pass. Along with Iene correspondents Pio D'Antini and Amedeo Grieco, she was loaded into an unmarked car in a nearby parking lot and driven away.

Le Iene is a satirical television program broadcast on the Italian channel Italia 1.

This marked the second time in two days that Luxuria was detained by police for protesting Russia's controversial laws against gay propaganda.
