Pope renews Argentine passport, ID card

(ANSA) - Buenos Aires, February 17 - Pope Francis has filed for a new Argentinian passport and identity card in order to "travel around the world as an Argentinian citizen," Argentina's Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo said Monday. The former archbishop of Buenos Aires submitted his application to Argentine authorities in Rome. "It's the latest gesture from the pope to our country and it fills us with pride," Randazzo added, underlining that Francis made no requests for special treatment. Once complete, his travel documents will be sent to Saint Martha's House, the Vatican dormitory where the pope has lived since being elected last March, and which he listed as his official residence in his passport renewal application. http://popefrancisnewsapp.com/
